Guidelines for Tacking Point J.S.L.S.C
Below are some of the important details that parents and Nippers should be aware of, for the upcoming season.
A parent or responsible adult must be present on the beach at all times during Nippers.
New members must have proof of age, and 75% attendance is required throughout the season to be eligible for Club championship.
Caps must be worn at all times during Nippers and removed when Nippers is finished.
Nippers are reminded that points will be allocated to them, with regard to their attitude and behaviour at Nippers. Nippers must inform their age managers before leaving their age group. The Club will do its best to adhere to a time schedule with regards to Sunday morning Nippers, but please be aware that surf and weather conditions can cause unforeseen changes. Rainy and overcast days can sometimes cause confusion. Any changes will be placed on the notice board outside the patrol room from 7.45am. We encourage parents participation& help ........ step up and have some fun.Registration Days:

Uniforms will be available for purchase from the Club house on Club days.
All Nippers must have a Tacking Point Club cap.
Ages
Nippers is the name given to the junior members of the surf club. They are aged 7 years and up to 14 years . Nippers start learning about Surf Life Saving and Surf Awareness through the Surf Ed program. Becoming a nipper is an important first step to becoming a Surf Life Saver. Emphasis is on participation and fun.
The activities include flags, sprints, relays, surf swims and board paddles. As well as learning about the surf they can attend carnivals within the branch. To take part in the water activities the children must first complete an S badge (a swimming test). For more information about the S badge contact Dave Rickwood.
Nippers start at 8.30am and finish at 11am every Sunday on the beach at Lighthouse Beach.
The nippers must wear a swim cap at all times while training. For caps and other parts of the uniforms see Lyn Kelly.
To run nippers each week we appreciate the assistance of parents. Being more involved in activities makes our Sundays more fun and enjoyable for everyone. An adult must accompany nippers each week or they cannot take part in activities. Parents can help by marshaling children, judging races, judging flags and starting events. There is always someone to show you what to do, so just ask. We also need to provide at least 5 officials from our Club at each carnival.
We often talk about branch. We belong to the Mid North Coast Branch of SLSA. Our branch includes Port Macquarie, Tacking Point, Crescent Head, Camden-Haven, South West Rocks, Wauchope/Bonny Hills, Hat Head and Macksville/Scotts Head.
Codes of Behaviour
In order to maintain our high standard of behaviour and sportsmanship, our Club has introduced a two warnings system. If a Club age manager or official deems a Nippers or adult's behaviour unsporting like,or inappropriate including verbal or physical abuse, a written official recorded warning will be given. Two such warnings will be investigated and exclusion from the Club and or competitions may be enforced. Please remember all Club officials and managers are volunteers who give up their Sundays to ensure Tacking Point S.L.S.C runs successfully. Please treat all with respect and courtesy. Committee meetings are held at the club on the 1st Tuesday of the month at 7pm. All parents are welcome and encouraged to attend. For further inquiries please contact David Rickwood.
